Where To Buy Rattan Chairs
As an introvert, I love scouting for furniture online before I try it out in the showroom.
Here are 7 furniture stores that carry rattan chairs and have a decent online website to shop from.
Type of Rattan Dining Chairs
In this post, you’ll find a compilation of five types of rattan dining chairs.
They are listed by price, from the cheapest to the most expensive.
The following categories are also included for careful consideration:
- Material of the chair
- Color options
- Delivery lead time
- Delivery fees
- Return and refund policy
- Availability to try on in the showroom
- Warranty
Please take note that I am not affiliated with any of the furniture stores below and the information in this post may change periodically.
Simple Rattan Dining Chairs
If budget is a concern, you can purchase the chair from Shopee (online) or More Design (online and physical stores).
The biggest differences between the two options are the delivery fees and delivery lead time.
The Shopee chair is ready stock and can be delivered quickly in 3-6 days.
But, once you add up the delivery fees, the chair becomes more expensive than More Design’s.
On the other hand, you can pick the chair up for free at More Design’s warehouse if you live in Klang Valley. But, it might take up to 2-3 weeks for the chair to be ready.
If you’re someone who cares a lot about after-sales service, Ruma Home’s Sophie Bistro Chair is a great alternative.
Ruma Home offers a 1-year limited warranty and easy returns within 14 days of purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Synthetic rattan vs natural rattan – which is better?
Synthetic rattan is great for many reasons. It’s:
- Lightweight
- Durable (especially for outdoor use)
- Inexpensive
- Easy to clean
- Doesn’t get moldy
But, it doesn’t have the beautiful texture and visual appeal that natural rattan has, and it’s not eco-friendly.
Meanwhile, natural rattan is beautiful and fairly durable, but it’s more expensive than synthetic rattan.
Additionally, it cannot withstand extreme temperatures, so it’s unsuitable for outdoor use, especially in our tropical climate.
Ultimately, synthetic rattan is great for outdoor use, and if you don’t have the budget to splurge on natural rattan.
How do you clean and care for rattan furniture?
Both natural and synthetic rattan are fairly easy to clean.
Dust your rattan furniture regularly with a soft cloth or a feather duster to remove any dirt or debris on it.
If they need a deep clean, use a soft cloth in warm soapy water to gently clean the furniture. Just be careful not to use too much water as excess water can damage natural rattan.
You may also use a toothbrush to scrub the rattan gently if you spot any stubborn stains.
Once you’ve cleaned your rattan furniture, make sure to dry them thoroughly. Use a clean dry cloth to remove excess moisture or dry them outdoors in a shaded area.
