My brother just gifted me his old Apple watch and I’m so excited to use it! I’ve only heard great things about the watch.

My brother said this watch was the greatest motivator for him when he was on his fitness journey. Not only does the watch tell time, but it also tells you how many steps you’ve taken and how many calories you’ve lost whenever you’re working out.

Best of all, it can also alert the authorities should something terrible happen to you! What’s not to love?

Digital book subscription

I signed up for a Scribd subscription in 2020 and it completely changed my life!

To be honest, I prefer a digital book subscription over my Kindle because the Kindle is an extra device to carry around. With a digital book subscription such as Scribd, I can easily access it on the go on my mobile phone.

A cloud subscription

My family gifted me a cloud subscription last year – I guess they know me pretty darn well because it’s still one of the best gifts I’ve ever received.

As someone who takes lots of photos, I feel like my phone and computer never have enough storage! My photos are my prized possessions; knowing that my photos are backed up online makes me feel secure whenever I have to switch gadgets.

Airpods

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m hopeless with tidying cables, wires, and the like. When Apple first introduced the Airpods, I was immediately sold. I’ve used mine for three years now and they still sound amazing! I’m never going back to wired earphones.

Self-care minimalist Christmas gifts

There’s a lot of talk about self-care but it is important to take care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally. Here are some things that will put a smile on your minimalist friend’s face!

Fruit and cheese charcuterie board

I received this as a gift for my birthday earlier this month and I loved it. You can’t go wrong with a fruit and cheese platter – it’s delicious and thoughtful! Food is the way to go if you can’t decide what to give.

Bath bombs

Forget colorful bubbles, Ouai’s chill pill is pure indulgence for adults only! According to reviews, these rose and jasmine-scented bath bombs don’t fizz as much as the typical bath bomb; but, they smell heavenly and leave your skin feeling soft and smooth after. If no one gives these to me, I’m buying them myself!

When you look good, you feel good. We are surrounded by ads telling us we need more “stuff” daily, but sometimes a haircut or massage is all we need to make ourselves feel good about ourselves, especially during the festive season.

Taking care of yourself includes getting a ton of quality rest. I can’t stress how important it is to invest in a pair of good-quality sheets.

People often think the higher the thread count the better, but this is so far from the truth! Invest in natural fabrics instead such as bamboo and linen as they are soft, durable, and breathable.

I love giving my loved ones experiences because they’re unique and memorable. Experiences are a great reminder that memories are more precious than material things.

Giving an experience is such a thoughtful gift because you can personalize it according to your friend’s interests and your budget. Some of my favorite experiences include spending the day at the beach, going for an intimate picnic, and playing with dogs.

There may be one or two minor fights, but at the end of the day, just remember you’re creating precious memories with your family. You can’t buy that with money!

Finally, there is nothing more sincere and beautiful than spending quality time with family during the holidays. I say this with conviction because I would give anything and everything to celebrate Christmas with my late mother.

If I had to pick only one skincare product to use during quarantine this year, it’ll be my facial wash. (Just kidding – I need moisturizer and sunscreen too!) I tried three different types of facial cleansers this year but the Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash is still a clear winner. True to its name, it is very frothy so a little goes a long way. Add this to your friend’s skincare routine – her face is going to feel squeaky clean after!

Recognize these fluffy fleece sandals from Tik Tok? According to this People magazine article, Amazon shoppers say these are the most comfortable things they’ve put on their feet this year. Some people even liken it to walking on clouds! As if that’s not enough to convince me, the fuzzy pair also comes with thick rubber non-slip sole for outdoor use. When we stayed in The Betsy in Miami last year, I was delighted to discover they provided Malin + Goetz toiletries. Since then, I’ve continued to use the Malin + Goetz bergamot hand treatment because it’s basically the best hand cream ever. Firstly, the mild citrus scent is very refreshing. Secondly, the lightweight cream absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky residue. It’s also made from all the good stuff like almond, shea butter and honey to keep hands, cuticles, and elbows moisturized. It’s exactly what your friend needs after all of the hand washing and sanitizing she’s been doing in 2020.

Everybody who knows me knows I am a scrunchie advocate. I made the switch to scrunchies last year because my elastic hair ties were pulling and damaging my hair. This is a slightly bias pick because I’ve been a longtime fan of Eva Chen. I have no shame admitting I want all of her children’s books! Of all her books, THIS is the book to get regardless of your children’s gender. Unlike many typical counting books, the 3,2,1 Awesome! book also teaches kids about fearless women who dared to be different. It’s never too early to teach children about chasing their dreams.

Little Dutch Birthday Cake, $25

I bought this for my niece for her first birthday and she absolutely LOVES it. This wooden set includes 6 ready-to-cut slices of cake, removable candles (from 1-5), removable fruit and cream toppings, a cake plate and a server. I love how it comes with different age candles, which means you can basically recycle this ‘cake’ for your children’s first five years! Besides that, this wooden cake serves as a great alternative especially if you didn’t get good photos of your child and their actual birthday cake. Since this toy is for 3-year-olds and older, do keep a close watch on younger kids as some of the smaller removable parts are considered choking hazards.

The Natty Kids Face Mask, $22

I haven’t seen many kids’ face masks around so I was over the moon when I spotted these gorgeous reusable face masks made from signature Liberty London fabric. Both adults and children can use this mask because of its adjustable fastenings. Unfortunately, these masks are sold out in London but they’re still up for grabs if you’re living in Malaysia. They come in a myriad of lovely colors but my favorite has to be the sweet Summer Blossoms B Yellow print.

Bea & Bow Charlie Bear Chair, $82

Bea & Bow is well-known for making plush toys functional. I first discovered them two years ago when I purchased two unicorn plush rockers for my older nieces. They recently released plush animal chairs made of soft velvet fabric; great for kids’ story time and for when you just need them to chill. This sofa chair comes in three variations (elephant, bear and unicorn) but I guess you can already tell which is my favorite, eh?

Kid Made Modern Wooden Robot Craft Kid, $31.49

When I first stumbled upon this wooden robot kit, my initial reaction was “This is SO cool!” followed by “I WANT IT.” Well, if this 31-year-old “kid” wants it, imagine how much joy it’ll bring to actual children! The best part? No engineering degree required to assemble these wooden robots! Once your kids have assembled them, they get to customize their robots with paint and stickers. It’s time for the young ones to enjoy some good old-fashioned fun with these wooden robots with movable limbs!

We gifted one of our friend’s daughter a Mini Micro last year and she was BLOWN AWAY! Although it’s on the pricier side, I personally think a scooter is worth every penny. Now, this 1-meter tall plush giraffe is one of those whimsical gifts my heart wants for my future child. I know it doesn’t serve any purpose other than being extremely huggable. BUT. There’s just something about the giraffe’s long neck and extra short legs that make this thing so stinkin’ cute! This giraffe is going to look AMAZING in my imaginary nursery. Unfortunately, it is sold out for now but if I were you, I’ll be quick to enter my email for that back-in-stock notification!

Besides toys, books are my favorite things to give to young children. I remember cultivating a reading habit when I was younger because I was so captivated by the adventures written by Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl.
